How to Reset the Oil Change Light on Your Buick Enclave

Understanding the Oil Change Light

Your Buick Enclave has a dashboard light that reminds you when it's time for an oil change. This light turns on based on your vehicle's maintenance schedule. After you change the oil, you'll need to reset this light so it starts counting down to your next service.

Steps to Reset the Oil Change Light

Follow these steps to reset the oil change reminder on your Enclave:

Using the Driver Information Center (DIC)

  1. Turn on the ignition without starting the engine.
  2. Press the up or down arrow buttons on your steering wheel to scroll through the menu options.
  3. Look for "Oil Life" or "Service" in the menu.
  4. Once you find it, press the button marked "OK" or "Select."
  5. You'll see a prompt asking if you want to reset the oil life. Choose "Yes."
  6. The light should turn off, and the counter will restart.

Using the Settings Menu (Newer Models)

Some newer Enclave models may have the reset option in the main settings menu:

  1. Turn on the ignition.
  2. Navigate to Settings or Maintenance in your touchscreen display.
  3. Select "Oil Life" or "Oil Change."
  4. Choose "Reset" and confirm.

What If the Light Doesn't Reset?

If the light stays on after following these steps, check your owner's manual for your specific model year. Some Enclave years have slightly different menu layouts. You can also contact your Buick dealer for help if you're having trouble locating the reset option.
